Ohayocon 2007 - the photo sessions

Ohayocon was a bit of a change of pace for me - I'm usually not able to do that much convention photography so it was nice to just be able to wander the halls and take the occasional picture, as well as corral some friends-of-friends into some photo shoots.

As a word of personal bias, I'll let it be known that I generally do not like flash photography at all. In fact, I hate it. Of course, this is mainly because I'm not very good at it yet. So thankfully, the super-mild weather meant I was able to take people outside for better-lit photos. The 24mm lens is a bit soft, and the low light meant often using a razor-thin depth of field, but I think the galleries will be quite nice once they're done.

Anyway, it was neat to run around and take in the con, including the photography. Hope to see you all at another con stateside or better yet, come up and visit me at Anime North...

If you're looking to use a photo: Um, that works for me. I'd ask you not to inline link the photos from elsewhere - link to the gallery page or such if possible. If you want to grab a copy and use it, that's cool. Just try make some sort of mention/credit where it came from - linkage is always nice but not necessary, as is dropping a line so I know where my random photos have ended up [grin]. Oh, and in the unlikely event it's for commercial use, well, you gotta talk to me before anything like that would happen.

Final thoughts: This was something different for me - more walk-around photos, less shoots, but still a lot of fun. And hey, I got to actually enjoy a con. So a fun time was had, and hopefully I'll see all of you at upcoming cons...
