Originally the plan seemed kinda cool - assemble some creepy characters, take them over to a parking garage for dark and twisted lighting, and shoot away. Unfortunately, mobility issues and other such turned it into a mass photoshoot in front of a white wall - not the most evocative of the mood of Silent Hill so since we couldn't bring the cast somewhere different, I brought something different to the cast and pulled out a Lensbaby 3G, a funky little lens that gives some pretty neat distortion effects to images in an attempt to bring back the twisted and distorted look that is the game. I took a few shots of some of the assorted baddies, and I think the effect worked.

Taken at stupid high ISO, available light at night in a hallway, and with a manual focus and intentionally-blurry lens; seemed like a perfect idea to me [grin]. Anyway, this was a pretty cool proof-of-concept shoot with the new and weird lens, and I think the effect matches the mood of the game.

Thanks to the anonymous brigade of Silent Hill cosplayers who showed up, maybe next time we can make it to that parking garage, and enjoy the photos.
