Centre Island 2006 - the photo sessions

Every year, Amanda and Pan organize a bout of madness called the Centre Island Cosplay Picnic. Simply put, a bunch of costumed folk descend on Toronto's Centre Island, and photos are taken.

For the first two years, I took a break from photos mostly - about a dozen photos two years ago, and I'm not sure I even brought my camera last year. This year, however, I wanted some good photos. Also, it was a chance to try out two new lenses, a Canon 50mm lens and a Canon 100mm macro lens that also works well for costumers.

I think the photos turned out well - a few mis-steps in photography from not being used to the new camera settings, but overall it went well, and I didn't take as many pics to get a decent pool of postable pics, so less digging through galleries for me.

Closing thoughts: well, this batch is done too. You can see where the new lens went a long way for image quality, but it also proved to be a rather fickle master. Still, I'm happy with this set, but I really need to bring a reflector for next time, awkward or not.
